Program Overview

Mastering The Secrets of the Game is Saint Louis Based Free Artist Development Series focused on equipping musicians and creatives with the tools and terms for unlocking music industry understanding.

This Seies Results in 8 Monthly in person classes that cover topics ranging from, Monetizing your Art, to Media training and Public Relations. Taught by Program Director “Vanita Thompson” of the Thompson Rose Agency, and facilitated by Mvstercamp, Each class also offers real world guidance and experience from special Music Industry Guests.

  • Before you master the art, you must master the business.
    This session is the foundation—teaching artists how to protect their work, get paid, and understand industry contracts. We’ll break down:

    • Copyright & PRO Registration – Why registering your music with BMI, ASCAP, or SESAC matters.

    • MLC & SoundExchange Registration – Collecting all royalties due to you.

    • Publishing Deals – Should you stay independent or sign a deal?

    • Contracts – Understanding what you sign before you sign it.

  • Next year Mastering Secrets of the Game will offer paid breakout workshops, where attendees can get  1 on 1 assistance with Essential Music Industry Action items such as, Creating An EPK, Registering music with PRO company’s, to LLC Clinics with a certified Attorneys from the VLAA and more. 

  • The Classes Introduce the learning and music industry understanding, but the actual work must be done.

  • Up to Two hours before Mastering Secrets of the game class starts, we will now offer consistent public facing programing, from the ranges of Creative Industry Networking Mixers, Independent Music Film Screenings & more.

  • With the Classes being Sold out every time, offering public facing non rsvp aspects still allows us to reach new people, and build anticipation just through the creative atmosphere of these classes.

FireSide Chats

  • Mastering Secrets of the game will now include fireside chats into the Series and learning curriculum so attendee get a chance to witness these tools, and terms in action through the story of the chat panelists.

    At time this looks like a fireside chat in the class, or a special stand alone fireside chat event thats RSVP only.
